THE ROLE– Director of AI

An organization that is a mainstay in the Financial Services space is seeking a Director of AI to lead the development and delivery of customer-facing AI solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on deploying real-world generative AI applications, including voicebots, chatbots, knowledge assistants, and automatic call summarization, at scale.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced professionals from data science or engineering backgrounds who are eager to take full ownership of AI product delivery in a high-velocity environment. The right candidate will directly shape the company’s AI strategy and play a foundational role in building a high-impact team with potential to scale!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the applied AI function, delivering generative AI solutions that reach millions of users.
• Build and deploy applications such as voicebots, chat interfaces, and real-time summarization tools.
• Contribute hands-on to development (50%+), including writing Python code, building prototypes, and reviewing technical work.
• Collaborate closely with product, data, and engineering teams to ensure AI initiatives align with business needs.
• Translate technical innovation into measurable business impact and customer value.
• Serve as a technical and strategic AI leader across the organization.
• Mentor a growing team of engineers and help build the foundation for a larger AI function.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Ample experience in data science, ML engineering, or AI development.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI or applied AI tools.
• Advanced Python skills and proven experience deploying AI systems into production environments.
• Background in customer- or client-facing AI applications such as voice/chat interfaces or generative tools.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey AI outcomes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience thriving in high-growth, small-team environments, with comfort being the lead AI expert on the team.
• Dual background in data science and engineering.
• Experience delivering AI solutions in client-facing or consulting contexts.
• Strong product sense with an understanding of AI product lifecycles.
• History of delivering financial or operational value through AI-driven automation.
• Familiarity with multi-modal AI applications across voice and text.

BENEFITS – Director of AI

As a Director of AI, you can expect to earn up to $220,000 (depending on experience), a bonus, + highly competitive benefits
