Job summary

Boston College Law School seeks a Director of Advocacy Programs to lead and strengthen its comprehensive Advocacy Program within the Center for Experiential Learning. The Director will provide strategic, academic, and operational leadership for a program that supports more than 100 students annually through mock trial, moot court, negotiation, client counseling, and other advocacy experiences.

The Director will teach and coach students; develop and oversee training and simulation materials;

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited program.
  • At least five years of relevant legal practice in a litigation setting, including judicial clerkship.
  • Demonstrated excellence in litigation and oral advocacy.
  • Demonstrated managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Ability to teach, train, or supervise.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and listening skills.
  • Strong professionalism, organizational and managerial skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with the advocacy communities nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and coach students in advocacy programs.
  • Develop and oversee training and simulation materials for mock trial, moot court, and client counseling.
  • Coordinate in-house and external competitions and recruitment of coaches and volunteers.
  • Supervise student boards and work-study staff; engage alumni, faculty, staff, and partners.
  • Lead events, communications, budgeting, and strategic planning for the Advocacy Program.
