Job summary

The Public Welfare Foundation seeks a Director of Administration in Washington, DC to lead human resources, facilities, and office operations. You will oversee risk management, vendor relationships, and IT policy input, reporting to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in administrative roles within non-profits, expertise in HR management, benefits, and employment law, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business or related field.
• Five years relevant administrative experience in a non-profit setting.
• Extensive knowledge of human resources management including compensation, benefits, and performance assessment.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and benefits regulations.
• Experience in facilities management, procurement, and office space management.
• Ability to create systems for safe, functional office environments.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR, benefits administration, compensation benchmarking, talent management and employee handbook.
• Oversee office operations, risk management, and vendor relationships for property management and FF&E procurement.
• Supervise Events Manager and facilities relationships with tenants and spaces.
• Participate in IT committee to develop planning and policies.
• Contribute to annual operating budget and long-term capital planning.
