Job summary

Tuesday Health is seeking a Director, Actuarial Services to lead the actuarial function supporting value-based contracts with health plan partners. You will own the quantitative foundations of risk-bearing arrangements, including settlements, pricing, and forecasting, ensuring accuracy and defensibility.

This role collaborates with Data & Analytics, Finance, and Growth teams, presenting analyses to payers and internal leaders.

Qualifications

• Substantial actuarial experience in value-based care or risk-bearing healthcare arrangements.
• Hands-on experience with claims-based underwriting, pricing, and risk assessment.
• Experience leading settlement calculations and financial reconciliations under value-based contracts.
• Experience supporting payer contract negotiations with actuarial and financial analysis.
• Strong claims data analysis skills and ability to explain cost/utilization trends.
• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for non-actuarial audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer settlement calculations for value-based contracts with accuracy and documentation.
• Support contract negotiations with actuarial analyses of terms and projections.
• Own underwriting for new and renewing contracts with sound assumptions.
• Produce claims-based reporting on cost, utilization, and quality metrics.
• Lead deep-dive analyses of claims trends to inform strategy.
• Maintain actuarial soundness of projections, reserves, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with Data & Analytics and Medical Economics on data quality and sourcing.
• Represent Tuesday Health in discussions with payer actuaries and analytics teams.
• Build and mentor actuarial and analytical capability as the function grows.
• Other duties as assigned.
