Job summary

CareSource in Dayton seeks a Director of Actuarial Science to shape strategy, drive innovation, and deliver insights that improve company performance. The role leads actuarial teams, ensures regulatory compliance, and develops models to support pricing, forecasting, and financial analysis.

You will oversee federal/state rate filings, AI-enabled solutions, and collaborations across departments to advance risk management and strategic goals while mentoring staff and guiding advanced analytics

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics or a related field.
Eight (8) years of decision support, financial analysis, or actuarial experience preferred.
Three (3) years of management experience preferred.
Strong database (SAS or Access) experience preferred.
Managed Care or healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Pricing, forecasting, month-end close activities and performance monitoring; develop key processes and assumptions.
Develop activities to improve efficiency and affordability.
Lead internal actuarial models for pricing, projections, contract modeling, and ad hoc projects.
Influence senior management on actuarial concepts and regulatory interactions.
Lead new business projects for the business development team at senior levels.
Ensure integrity of federal/state rate filing requirements as needed.
Identify opportunities across functions where actuarial can drive goals.
Lead actuaries and mentor other teams; support training and development.
