Job summary

PacificSource in Oregon is seeking an experienced actuary to lead pricing and related actuarial services. You will develop premium rates for Commercial and Medicare Advantage, oversee rate filings, and guide a team of analysts to deliver accurate, timely insights.

You will partner with Underwriting, Product Development and Finance to ensure regulatory compliance, sound financial performance, and enrollment growth, while mentoring staff and shaping department budgets.

Qualifications

• At least six years actuarial experience and three years management experience required. Health experience preferred.
• Baccalaureate degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or a related field. Enrolled as Fellow in Society of Actuaries, and active member in good standing of American Academy of Actuaries.
• Must possess knowledge of actuarial methods, modeling techniques, and actuarial standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Develop the organization's premium rates for Commercial and Medicare Advantage bids with actuarial analysis.
• Prepare rate filings/bids, supporting exhibits, and sign certifications; direct pricing model development.
• Lead a team of actuaries and analysts; provide coaching, hiring input, and performance reviews.
• Support reserving, forecasting, budgeting, and risk adjustment analysis; align pricing with enterprise costs.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Product Development, Sales and Finance on regulatory compliance and strategy.
• Participate in strategic committees and drive continuous improvement in pricing processes.
