Greenspoon Marder is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to join our Cypress Creek office. This role offers a great opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic finance professional to support our Accounting Department. Please see below for more details about this opening:

Your Director of Accounting Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistent application and strengthen internal controls.
  • Manage all accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, Billing, Trust, Client Relations, Collections, etc.
  • Support the accounting staff with daily tasks and resolve escalated issues.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly bank reconciliations for operating and trust accounts, and update pending transactions.
  • Monitor unapplied and trust balances as well as unbilled WIP.
  • Regularly reconcile general ledger accounts, such as A/R balances to aging reports.
  • Maintain an appropriate chart of accounts for division reporting.
  • Establish and oversee internal controls over accounting transactions.
  • Prepare and issue accurate financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring quality control over transactions and reporting.
  • Calculate and communicate relevant financial and operational metrics.
  • Provide financial analyses for capital investments, pricing, and contracts.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with regulatory and tax reporting requirements.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • CPA/CMA certification preferred but not required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including experience as a department-level Director.
