Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with government funding, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Oversee accounting operations including general ledger and accounts payable, with AR partnership.
• Manage annual financial and compliance audits.
• Oversee cash flow management, construction draws, capitalization, and cost allocations for lease‑up projects.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, internal processes, and financial controls.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve financial efficiency.
• Provide financial insights and risk‑management recommendations to senior leadership.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff; strengthen financial knowledge across the organization.
• Partner cross‑functionally to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA or MBA preferred
• 10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
• Strong background in real estate development accounting and affordable housing finance
• Experience with government-funded projects
• Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, SAGE, or similar accounting systems, plus advanced Excel skills
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Valid driver's license required

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
