Job summary

Noor Staffing Group seeks a Senior Real Estate Controller to oversee the monthly close, consolidate multi-entity entities, and ensure GAAP compliance across properties, funds, and joint ventures. This role leads an accounting team and partners with FP&A and asset management.

The ideal candidate holds an active CPA, 8+ years in real estate accounting, and deep knowledge of ASC 842, GAAP, and major ERP systems. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license (required).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a management or director-level role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 842, and partnership/JV accounting.
• Hands-on experience with real estate accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, RealPage, AppFolio, or Sage Intacct).
• Proven experience managing audits and multi-entity consolidations.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across all properties and entities.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and consolidations.
• Manage property-level accounting, including rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, tenant receivables, and security deposits.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements for properties, funds, and joint ventures.
• Deliver investor, lender, and partner reporting packages, including covenant compliance.
• Partner with FP&A on budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Oversee capitalization of development and construction costs, capital expenditures, and depreciation.
• Manage lease accounting (ASC 842), acquisition accounting, and impairment analysis.
• Oversee joint venture accounting, waterfalls, capital account tracking, and partner distributions.
• Support acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancings, including due diligence and closing statements.
• Lead external audits and coordinate with tax advisors on partnership returns, REIT compliance, and 1031 exchanges.
• Ensure compliance with lender requirements, sales tax, and property tax filings.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and staff.
• Drive process improvements and automation within the ERP and property management platforms.
• Partner with asset management, property management, and development teams.
