Job summary

Southeast Health is seeking a Director of Academic Support Services to lead comprehensive academic coaching and intervention programs for medical students. This role reports to the Senior Assistant Dean of Student Advancement and focuses on learning strategies, progression, and success within the Center for Medical Student Success.

The director will design structured support plans, coordinate workshops and tutoring, and collaborate with faculty and student services to identify at-risk students

Responsibilities

• Provides academic coaching and support for medical students, focusing on evidence-based study skills, test-taking, time management, and content retention.
• Assists in designing and implementing structured support plans for at-risk students with the Senior Assistant Dean.
• Coordinates workshops, peer tutoring, and enrichment programs within the Center for Medical Student Success.
• Partners with faculty, advisors, and student services to identify students in difficulty and develop individualized learning plans.
• Maintains confidential documentation of academic interventions, progress tracking, and outcomes assessment.
• Supports development and enhancement of programs related to COMLEX/USMLE board exam preparation.
• Collects data and assesses academic support services to improve alignment with institutional goals.
• Serves as a resource on learning theory and academic counseling best practices for medical students.

This role is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive academic support services designed to promote medical student learning, persistence, and success. The Director plays a pivotal role in identifying students in academic difficulty, creating intervention strategies, and providing one-on-one and group academic coaching and resources aligned with the College's values and mission## **Job Description*** Position Responsibilities: 1. Maintains accurate and confidential documentation of academic interventions, including progress tracking and outcomes assessment. 6. Supports the development and ongoing enhancement of programming related to academic milestones, including COMLEX/USMLE board exam preparation. 7. Engages in data collection and assessment of academic support services to promote continuous improvement and alignment with institutional goals. 8. Serves as a knowledgeable resource on learning theory, academic counseling best practices, and the academic needs of medical students. 9.
