Mount St. Mary's University seeks a Director of Academics & Student Athlete Development to lead academic support for its Division I student‑athletes.

The role reports to the Deputy Director of Athletics and the Associate Provost, collaborating with the Center for Student Success to monitor progress and coordinate support services. The director will coordinate tutoring, learning services, counseling, and academic programs, plan events such as SAAC activities and leadership retreats, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 2–5 years in higher education, intercollegiate athletics, academic advising, student support, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, and academic standards for student-athletes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication across the University.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and oversee the academic progress of approximately 700 student-athletes in 26 Division I sports.
• Provide direct academic support to assigned varsity sports (men's rugby, cheerleading, and dance).
• Coordinate tutoring, learning services, counseling, and academic support courses.
• Collaborate with campus departments on student-athlete development initiatives.
• Assist with NCAA APR and GSR data collection and reporting.
• Plan and coordinate programs and events including SAAC and leadership activities.
• Serve as advisor to SAAC and support conference initiatives.
