Job summary

The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law seeks a Faculty Director of Academic Excellence to lead bar exam support, refine systems for student academic excellence, and teach courses as needed. This 12-month Lecturer position is based on the Columbus campus and requires JD and bar admission.

The role includes coordinating with Themis resources, advising on licensure, MPRE, accommodations, and tracking bar results to improve outcomes for graduates and current students.

Qualifications

• JD degree and bar admission in good standing.
• At least 2 years in a higher education setting focusing on legal writing and bar preparation.
• At least 5 years of legal experience outside of higher education.

Responsibilities

• 50% focuses on bar exam success, running and refining bar support programs, and advising students on licensure.
• 20% provides formal instruction and academic counseling; oversees academic excellence initiatives and budget.
• 20% teaches additional courses as required by the college.
• 10% collaborates with the Associate Dean and Assistant Dean to identify students needing support and to design programs.
