Director Nursing Perioperative

Since 1973, Texas Health HEB has been a cornerstone of care in the DFW mid-cities. As a 322-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital, we provide high-quality, convenient care to residents of Hurst, Euless, Bedford, and surrounding communities.

Our specialties include women’s health, perioperative services, heart and vascular care, oncology, emergency medicine, and more. We also support medical education through our Internal Medicine Residency Program, which launched in 2022 and will graduate its first class in 2025.

We are ANCC Magnet designated, Joint Commission-certified in Chest Pain (PHAC), a Primary Stroke Center, and a Level III Trauma Center, offering Level III NICU and Maternal Care services.

Position Details
  • Work location: Bedford, TX
  • Core hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Job Responsibilities
Operations
  • Plan, organize, and delegate activities for department safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Develop and oversee policies, procedures, and standards aligned with hospital and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Support data and information flow to leadership and staff.
Strategic Planning
  • Set priorities for department growth based on customer needs and industry trends.
  • Market services effectively to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with nurses and other disciplines to develop and evaluate programs and services.
Fiscal Management
  • Manage resources efficiently, balancing staffing, patient outcomes, safety, and productivity.
  • Review operational performance regularly.
  • Advocate for appropriate resources and communicate with staff and stakeholders about goals and results.
Customer Satisfaction
  • Work with patients, staff, physicians, and stakeholders to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Create a collaborative work environment and address concerns promptly.
  • Monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction regularly.
Continuous Improvement
  • Use internal and external data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and monitor performance indicators.
  • Engage staff in setting goals and evaluating outcomes.
Human Resources
  • Oversee recruitment, retention, and staff development.
  • Evaluate staff performance and promote professional growth.
  • Develop leadership skills and support diversity objectives.
Professional Accountability
  • Network with peers and promote ethical practice.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and promote the nursing image.
  • Engage in self-assessment and community health activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years RN experience, including 1 year in a leadership role; perioperative experience and management experience are preferred.
  • RN license required; certification in nursing administration or specialty preferred within 12 months.
Skills
  • Knowledge of industry standards (JCAHO, Medicare, OSHA).
  • Understanding of continuous improvement, change management, and emergency preparedness.
