Job summary

Mercy San Juan Medical Center, part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks a Director of Nursing for the ER to lead a 32-bed emergency department and a 6-bed Crisis Stabilization Unit in Carmichael, CA. You will partner with senior leadership to shape strategy, advise clinical staff, and drive initiatives that improve patient care and experience.

This role requires a BSN with MSN/MBA/MHA, plus 3+ years nursing and 2+ years of leadership experience, RN CA licensure, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; MSN/MBA/MHA preferred.
• Minimum of three years nursing experience; two years leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct operations of Emergency Services (ER) and Crisis Stabilization Unit.
• Advise medical staff and department heads on patient care and clinical practices.
• Communicate organizational goals to staff and drive patient experience improvements.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Director Nursing ER at Mercy San Juan Medical Center, you will direct the operations of our Emergency Services, comprised of a 32 bed ER seeing on average 225 patients per day, and a 6 bed outpatient Crisis Stabilization Unit. We are a paramedic base station hospital, and the safety net hospital for Dignity Health's Sacramento Market. To help support you as the Director, we have a Nurse Manager ER, an Emergency Services Educator, and a team of Nurse Shift Managers.

Every day, you will work with Sr. Leadership on strategy and key initiatives, and work with your front-line leaders to ensure we maintain high standards of patient care. You will advise medical staff, other department heads, and administrators in matters related to patient care, clinical best practices, and strategies. You will communicate the organization’s goals to the staff as we constantly seek to better serve our community by improving patient experience and delivering exceptional quality care.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be an experienced leader, with a track record of success in mid to large sized hospitals overseeing ER / Emergency Services. You must be competent and confident, with excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups. Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent education and experience.
• Master's degree in nursing or other related field (MSN, MBA, MHA) required.

Required Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
• Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience.

Required Licensure

• Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Pay Range

$80.17 - $119.26 /hour
