A leading healthcare organization in New York seeks a Nursing Director to oversee nursing standards and quality improvement. The role involves strategic leadership, compliance with regulations, and fostering professional growth within the nursing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive nursing experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to patient care excellence.
Overview:
Reports to Senior Vice President, Patient Care Services/CNO. Responsible for establishing, monitoring, and evaluating nursing standards of practice and quality improvement activities, including Human Resources and Education.
Education: BSN from an accredited nursing school; Master’s in Nursing or related field or minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; Doctorate preferred.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of nursing experience.
Knowledge and Skills: Critical thinking, proficiency in Excel & Word, understanding of TQM, quality measures, clinical guidelines, and regulatory compliance. Ability to analyze data, lead quality initiatives, and work effectively across departments. Demonstrates leadership, professionalism, and excellent communication skills.
Licenses and Certifications: Current NY RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and other specified certifications.
High-stress environment, exposure to blood and body fluids, physical mobility, and on-call availability.
