Job summary

HYBE Americas, part of HYBE, is seeking a Director, Business & Legal Affairs in Santa Monica. You will draft and negotiate complex recording, distribution, and publishing agreements and advise on brand partnerships and IP strategy, ensuring artists and operations are protected while enabling creative growth.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Santa Monica. Candidates must be based in or relocate to the greater Los Angeles area at their own expense before start date; relocation assistance

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of transactional legal experience in music/entertainment
• Active California State Bar in good standing
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills for complex agreements

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and structure transactional music agreements (recording, distribution, publishing, synchronization, artist management, live touring, brand partnerships)
• Counsel internal teams on IP, copyright clearance, trademarks, and right-of-publicity
• Support corporate governance, vendor contracts, regulatory compliance, and risk management across entertainment ventures
• Manage contract administration, track option dates, and rights across domestic and international catalogs
