Job summary
CareDx, Inc. in Waltham, MA seeks a Director of Research & Development to lead the scientific and technical advancement of NavDx and NavDxGyn.
You will guide assay development, analytical validation, translational oncology research, and future product development within a cross-functional team. The role demands deep expertise in circulating nucleic acids and biomarker discovery, with responsibility for strategic roadmaps, cross‑functional leadership, external collaborations, and publication
Qualifications
- PhD in molecular biology or related field and 10+ years in molecular diagnostics or translational research.
- Experience leading assay development programs from concept to clinical implementation.
- Familiarity with ctDNA, cfDNA, viral DNA, or related biomarkers.
- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary scientific teams and publications.
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific leadership across NavDx/NavDxGyn and HPV-driven cancer products.
- Direct analytical development, optimization, and verification of assays.
- Oversee analytical validation studies and regulatory documentation.
- Partner with Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial teams.
- Represent CareDx in external collaborations and scientific meetings.
- Build and mentor high-performing research teams and manage budgets.
