Job summary

CareDx, based in Waltham, MA, seeks a Director of Research & Development to lead the scientific and technical advancement of NavDx/NavDxGyn products. You will drive assay development, analytical validation, translational research, and future oncology product opportunities.

The role requires a PhD in a relevant field and 10+ years in molecular diagnostics with proven leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a track record of impactful publications.

Qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in molecular diagnostics, biotechnology, oncology, or translational research.
• Experience leading assay development programs from concept through clinical implementation.
• Experience with circulating nucleic acid technologies including ctDNA, cfDNA, viral DNA, or related biomarkers.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary scientific teams.
• Strong track record of publications and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead scientific strategy for NavDx, NavDxGyn, and future HPV-driven cancer products.
• Drive innovation in circulating tumor DNA, viral DNA, and related molecular diagnostic technologies.
• Oversee analytical validation activities supporting LDTs.
• Partner with Clinical Affairs and Medical Affairs to design validation studies.
• Represent CareDx in external scientific engagements and collaborations.
• Build and mentor high-performing research teams and manage budgets.
