Job summary

Scale Microgrids seeks a Director of Power Systems to lead a team delivering DER and microgrid engineering for data centers and grid-tied projects. You will drive technical standards, review designs, and guide integration with utility systems.

Prefer hybrid work from Ridgewood, NJ or otherScale offices; 10+ years in power systems with leadership experience is essential. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of power systems experience with 3+ years leading teams.
• Deep knowledge of distributed energy technologies (solar, storage, switchgear, engines).
• Experience with 13.8kV/23kV/34.5kV systems and transformer design.
• Understanding interconnection requirements and US power markets.
• Experience in engineering/consulting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to develop core technologies for distributed energy solutions.
• Define best practices and publish standards for high-quality microgrid projects.
• Review electrical designs and operation sequences for controls.
• Oversee relay protection settings and power systems analysis.
• Define long-term technical vision and roadmaps for microgrid design.
• Collaborate with business teams to integrate microgrids on site cost-effectively.
• Mentor and grow a diverse team; set goals and provide feedback.
• Coordinate staffing and tool adoption to improve team performance.

BS in Electrical Engineering (power)
