Job summary

CLEAR is seeking a Director of Engineering, Members Platform, to lead the organization delivering secure, frictionless experiences for CLEAR’s members. You will own the platforms powering membership, identity proofing and biometrics, and drive strategy, execution, and operational excellence at scale.

You will build and mentor a team of Engineering Managers and senior ICs, partner with Product, Security, and Engineering leaders, and own vendor integrations across CRM, payments, and billing to

Qualifications

• 4+ years of leading and scaling engineering organizations.
• Experience managing managers and teams of 20+ engineers.
• Ability to drive large-scale platform initiatives such as system re-architecture or multi-tenant development.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical strategy and roadmap for CLEAR’s member-facing platforms, including membership, identity proofing and biometrics
• Lead and develop a team of Engineering Managers and senior ICs, building a high-performing organization focused on growth, accountability, and impact
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Security, and Engineering leadership to align on priorities, architecture, and delivery of secure, scalable solutions
• Own vendor strategy and integrations across CRM, payments, and billing platforms, ensuring cost efficiency, reliability, and scalability
• Establish and uphold engineering standards, driving best practices in system design, reliability, observability, and operational excellence
