Job summary

Brigham Young University’s School of Medicine seeks a Director of Medical Education Innovation to lead strategic efforts integrating emerging technologies into the MD curriculum and advancing educational scholarship.

The role partners with faculty, students, clinical affiliates, and industry collaborators to develop responsible, evidence-based innovations that enhance learning, clinical reasoning, and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/PhD/EdD or comparable terminal degree required by start date.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience advancing innovation in healthcare, education or related fields.
• Expertise in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies and their educational, clinical and research applications.
• Experience integrating AI or emerging technologies into medical education or related settings.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills; ecclesiastical endorsement required.
• Preferred: experience in medical education and curriculum design.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive strategy for medical education innovation and emerging technologies.
• Evaluate and promote responsible use of innovations to strengthen learning, clinical reasoning, and patient care.
• Lead educational and ethical considerations of new technologies in medical education and practice.
• Collaborate with curriculum leaders to integrate technologies across the MD curriculum.
• Advance faculty development and scholarly activity related to medical education innovation.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance educational excellence.
