Role Summary
The Director, Media Insights & Optimization holds direct accountability for media insights and optimization, sitting within the Performance Marketing team and partnering closely with our Media, Activation and Platforms team. This role is responsible for translating campaign and channel performance data into clear, decision-ready guidance for internal stakeholders and clients. This role owns day-to-day logistics and process infrastructure, in addition to having people management accountability, and serves as the primary point of contact for partner relationship management as it relates to PLD.
Key Responsibilities
Media Insights & Optimization
- Hold direct, end-to-end accountability for the delivering media insights and optimization across all managed channels and campaigns.
- Set the standard for how performance data is analyzed, interpreted, and applied, ensuring recommendations are grounded in evidence and tied to business outcomes.
- Direct insights and optimization across both HCP (healthcare provider) and DTC (direct-to-consumer) media, tailoring targeting, platforms, and KPIs to each audience.
- Guide planning and optimization across brand, unbranded/disease-state, and multi-stakeholder (HCP, patient, caregiver, payer) campaigns.
- Directly manage, coach, and develop members of the Analyst team, including goal-setting, performance reviews, career development planning, and day-to-day people management.
- Onboard and mentor Analysts, building a team with strong analytical rigor and clear growth paths.
- Own resourcing and workload distribution across the team to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.
Process, Logistics & Partner Management
- Own the team's logistics and process layer, including workflows, quality-control checkpoints, timelines, and reporting cadences.
- Serve as the primary relationship owner with PLD, managing day-to-day coordination, escalations, and long-term partnership health.
- Continuously refine team processes and tools to increase efficiency, consistency, and accuracy of insights and optimization work.
- Account for the data-privacy and targeting constraints unique to healthcare marketing (e.g., limited retargeting, HIPAA-aware data handling) when designing team processes.
- Elevate standard reporting into genuine insight, consistently answering the “so-what” behind the numbers and recommending clear “what's-next” actions.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (media, strategy, creative, client leads) to ensure insights inform planning and decision-making, not just retrospectives.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and, as needed, directly to clients, in a clear and business-relevant manner.
- Connect media performance to prescription-level outcomes (NRx/TRx) using claims, specialty pharmacy, or closed-loop marketing data, translating results into insight for stakeholders.
- Navigate the attribution and measurement challenges specific to regulated healthcare environments, including longer consideration cycles and constrained tracking, when elevating reporting into insight.
Qualifications
- 8–10 years of experience in media analytics, insights, or optimization, including prior people-management experience.
- Demonstrated track record leading a team of Analysts, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Strong command of media performance data across digital and/or traditional channels, with the ability to translate findings into actionable, business-relevant recommendations.
- Experience managing external partner or vendor relationships, with strong communication and relationship-management skills.
- Proven ability to build and refine team processes, workflows, and reporting cadences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency with media analytics and reporting tools/platforms relevant to the team's channel mix.
