Deerfield is seeking a Junior Web Developer to join our tech organization and help produce client-ready digital assets — primarily HTML emails, display / HTML5 banners, and Sanity CMS website updates. This hands-on production role ships clean, QC-ready work on agency timelines, partners with creative and account teams, and grows under the team's leadership.

The candidate will implement and adapt creative concepts.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of web production, email development, digital design production, or related experience
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS (read, write, debug)
• Demonstrated ability to build responsive layouts for email and/or web
• Comfort with Figma and/or Adobe Creative Cloud for asset prep and handoff
• Experience updating or building in a CMS (Sanity, Contentful, WordPress, or similar)
• Portfolio or work samples required

Responsibilities

Role Summary

We're hiring a Junior Web Developer to join our tech organization and help produce client-ready digital assets — primarily HTML emails, display / HTML5 banners, and Sanity CMS website updates.

This is a hands-on production seat: you'll ship clean, QC-ready work on agency timelines, partner with creative and account teams, and grow under the team's leadership.

This role is not a senior architect or AI platform role, not primarily backend / DevOps / data engineering and not a creative design seat. We are looking for someone who will implement and adapt and own creative concepts.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain responsive HTML/CSS emails from creative comps, with consistent rendering across major email clients and devices
• Produce and adapt display / HTML5 banner ads (masters and size variants), respecting weight, animation, and platform specs
• Implement and update content on Sanity CMS (and related) websites / landing experiences with clean, maintainable front-end code
• Translate Figma / Adobe designs into production-ready assets; optimize images and assets for web and email
• Perform technical QA before handoff: links, spacing, responsive breakpoints, email-client quirks, and basic accessibility checks
• Collaborate with creative, account, project management, and tech teammates; communicate status, blockers, and timelines in our ticket/workflow tools
• Iterate quickly on feedback, proofing notes, and medical/legal (MLR) revisions common in healthcare work
• Document builds lightly (file organization, template notes) and contribute to reusable patterns over time
• Support timed production releases and go-lives for emails, banners, and website updates. Some releases land early morning or late evening; occasional off-hours flexibility is required, with advance notice whenever possible

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 0–2 years of web production, email development, digital design production, or related experience (internships, freelance, and strong portfolio projects count); 1–2 years ideal
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS (read, write, debug)
• Demonstrated ability to build responsive layouts for email and/or web
• Comfort with Figma and/or Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop/Illustrator) for asset prep and handoff
• Experience updating or building in a CMS (Sanity, Contentful, WordPress, or similar), or clear portfolio evidence of structured web content work
• Strong attention to detail, time management across concurrent projects, and clear written/verbal communication
• Portfolio or work samples required
• Related degree or equivalent experience / portfolio
• Comfortable with occasional early-morning or late-evening release windows when client go-lives require it

Preferred Qualifications

• Email QA platforms: Litmus and/or Email on Acid
• ESP / marketing platforms: Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Knak, Stripo, or similar
• MJML for email templating
• Google Web Designer (GWD) for HTML5 banner production
• Git basics and collaborative pull-request workflow
• Familiarity with IAB / ad-server specs and file-weight optimization
• Accessibility awareness (WCAG basics)
• Interest in healthcare / pharma marketing, regulated review processes, or Veeva-adjacent workflows
• Ticket tools (Jira, Asana, ClickUp, etc.); light Node/PHP familiarity
• Analytics basics (GA4 / GTM)
