Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Director of Mechanical Engineering & Design to provide strategic and technical leadership across complex mechanical infrastructure projects in the New York market. You will drive design, planning, and execution for central plants, HVAC systems, and energy-efficient solutions.

The role requires a PE license in NY, 15–20 years in MEP engineering, and 6–10+ years of leadership, with travel about 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Active NY PE license is required.
• 15–20 years in MEP engineering with leadership experience.
• Willingness to travel ~20% overnight.
• Experience with healthcare, higher education, and institutional projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior authority on mechanical system and central plant design initiatives.
• Lead feasibility studies, conceptual development, and detailed engineering for central utilities and HVAC systems.
• Oversee HVAC design for large, complex facilities.
• Establish QA/QC standards and design best practices.
• Direct multiple engagements, manage budgets, timelines, and staffing.
