Job summary

LeoForce, a leading engineering consultancy in New York, seeks a Director of Mechanical Engineering PE to lead design and project development of large-scale facilities. You will steer central plant and HVAC design, supervise multidisciplinary teams, and ensure QA/QC from feasibility to commissioning.

Requirements include NY PE license, 15–20 years in MEP, 5–10 years of leadership, and up to 20% travel. The position offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) License (NY) required.
• 15-20 years of experience in MEP engineering.
• 6-10+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• Experience with healthcare, higher education, and institutional projects.
• Willingness to travel up to ~20% overnight.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior authority on mechanical system and central plant design initiatives.
• Lead feasibility studies, conceptual development, and detailed engineering for central utilities and HVAC systems.
• Oversee HVAC design for large, complex facilities and QA/QC protocols.
• Review and approve technical deliverables across projects.
• Direct multiple concurrent engagements and manage budgets, timelines, and staffing.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and utilities.
• Provide guidance through construction, commissioning, and start-up.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers and project managers; recruit top talent.
• Engage in proposals, client interviews, and long-term partnerships.
• Support decarbonization, electrification, and sustainability initiatives.
