Job summary

The Director of Material Business Management at Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics will oversee a supply chain program management organization that collaborates with the Line of Business (LOB) program management, business development, engineering, finance and other supply chain functions to shape, capture, and grow existing programs and new business.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the DoD/DOW industry in supply chain materials related roles.
• Business or Engineering degree required. Masters degree preferred.
• Advanced level of business acumen, sound decision-making and situational awareness of programmatic risks and opportunities in a complex supply chain environment.
• Ability to develop, lead and manage a supply chain program management team on multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated skills to collaborate in a fast-paced cross-functional environment including program management, engineering, planning, quality, purchasing, finance, and general management.
• Excellent customer and key supplier executive leadership interface skills.
• Detail oriented and organized with ability to build an organization of professionals and delegate tasks.
• Strong understanding of production material demand planning, scheduling, and compliance with FAR/DFARS.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and strengthen a supply chain program management team coordinating with program management, business development, engineering, finance and other supply chain functions.
• Communicate integrated plans to ensure successful execution and management of materials for complex products and systems.
• Ensure skilled talent for strategic sourcing and leverage supplier relationships to pursue higher PWIN and production profit targets.
• Own executive relationships with key suppliers to maintain competitive advantage.
• Develop material proposal strategies to improve PWIN and document risk and opportunities for program execution.
• Ensure timely, high-integrity proposals and baseline planning of material plans to optimize margin and working capital.
• Manage long lead material items and risks in schedules/costs; deploy advance procurement as needed.
• Monitor demand, supply and constraints at the program level and manage risks.
• Collaborate with supply chain operations to manage critical suppliers and ensure budget, schedule and quality compliance.
• Coordinate with program management, finance and planning to issue accurate material requirements via MRP.
• Ensure material budgets and quarterly EACs are achieved across the portfolio.
• Forecast material receipts supporting production and financial plans and identify risks early.
• Develop procurement labor-hour and travel estimates for proposals and program plans.
• Ensure material proposals comply with FAR and DFARS requirements.
• Work with quality to drive risk assessments and supplier performance management.
