Job summary

LightForce is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Engineering to lead the engineering of our manufacturing system, owning process development, equipment, automation and NPI to scale our patient-specific, 3D-printed orthodontic platform.

You will drive Lean, Six Sigma and DOE methodologies to improve yield, throughput and cost, while building a strong team across engineering disciplines and partnering with Quality and Operations to ensure compliance and timely execution.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Electrical/ Industrial Engineering (or related) required.
• 10+ years in progressive engineering roles in complex manufacturing environments.
• 5+ years in direct leadership/people-management role.
• Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, DOE and process controls.
• Experience with OSHA, ISO and regulatory quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the Manufacturing Technology & Process Roadmap to scale throughput and reduce labor dependence.
• Drive Continuous Improvement using Lean, DOE and statistics to improve yield, cycle time and cost.
• Lead Manufacturing Automation & Equipment including robotics and vision systems.
• Own New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing side and design transfer.
• Build and develop a high-performing Manufacturing Engineering org and manage resources.
