Job summary

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) seeks a Director of Resource Development in Washington, DC. This full‑time management role partners with the Senior Vice President to maximize fundraising from individuals, corporations and foundations.

You will lead a small development team, drive major gifts and endowment plans, oversee donor data, and coordinate campaigns and sponsorships with other departments. Salary ranges from $140,000 to $160,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years fundraising experience.
• Strong negotiation and collaboration skills.
• Supervisory experience and ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with Raiser's Edge preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while working independently or in a team.
• Passion for CBCF's mission.

Responsibilities

• Lead major gifts, planned giving, and endowment initiatives.
• Set short and long‑term fundraising goals with the Senior VP.
• Manage donor base activity and outreach prospects.
• Oversee donor data to ensure complete records and confidentiality.
• Cultivate regular communication with donors and respond to proposals.
• Prepare development reports and research new prospect strategies.
• Collaborate with departments to plan events and sponsorships.
• Provide leadership and collaboration with the Development Team.
• Develop and implement fundraising plans and campaigns.
• Oversee operations of the Resource Development department.
