Job summary

Anthropic seeks a Director, Technical Accounting – M&A to lead accounting for mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments, and complex capital structures. You will partner with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and leadership to ensure GAAP-compliant deal economics and defensible positions for auditors and regulators.

This builder role focuses on controls, governance, and close-ready documentation aligned with a large accelerated filer, while shaping the deal accounting

Qualifications

• 10+ years progressive accounting experience.
• 4+ years owning complex M&A transactions.
• Active CPA license.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical accounting for business combinations, asset acquisitions, and related financing/equity structures.
• Partner with Corporate Dev to steer deal structures toward preferred terms.
• Perform accounting due diligence on prospective transactions and advise on GAAP implications.
