Job summary

Vertex, a cloud and AI-enabled compliance software leader, seeks a Director to drive end-to-end deal execution and post-acquisition integration. You will partner with the CSO and cross-functional leaders to shape investment theses and translate diligence into Day 1 readiness and 100-day value plans.

You will lead the inorganic growth roadmap, oversee complex SaaS valuations, LOIs, and integration playbooks, and collaborate across Product, Tax, Security, and Legal to protect customer continuity,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Strategy, or a related analytical discipline.
• MBA, CFA, or advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of experience across corporate development, M&A integration leadership, investment banking, private equity, management or strategy consulting.
• Demonstrated experience leading multiple acquisitions and full-lifecycle post-merger integration programs.
• Proven ability to present financial analyses and strategic cases to C-suite and Board stakeholders.
• Experience integrating founder-led or cross-border teams into a public-company environment while protecting customer continuity and talent retention.

Responsibilities

• Shape Vertex's inorganic growth roadmap and maintain a prioritized M&A target pipeline.
• Lead target origination and cultivate relationships with investment banks, M&A advisors, growth equity sponsors, and founder-led software businesses.
• Direct SaaS financial modeling, DCF and market-multiple valuations, ARR/NRR analyses, and synergy planning for Board recommendations.
• Support LOIs, transaction structuring, and definitive agreements alongside senior leaders.
• Orchestrate end-to-end due diligence across functions and translate findings into binding Day 1 readiness and 100-day value plans.
• Design deal-specific integration strategies and playbooks to protect engineering velocity and enable post-close value realization.
