Job summary

Wentworth Executive Recruiting is representing a Director of Preconstruction for a luxury residential firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role leads the preconstruction team, collaborates with architects, and guides high-net-worth clients through budgeting and design decisions.

The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge in value engineering, strong communication skills, and a track record with $2M+ projects.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of estimating or preconstruction management experience required.
• BA/BS in Construction Management or Business a plus, but not required.
• Proven track record in high-end, custom residential construction ($2M+ project scale).
• Preconstruction Expertise: budgeting, value engineering, architectural plan reading.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Preconstruction and Budgeting: collaborate with architects, develop early-stage budgets, apply value engineering.
• Consultative Sales and Marketing Support: lead client interviews, secure preconstruction contracts, manage client relationships.
• Leadership and Department Operations: manage 2-3 staff, oversee takeoffs, bidding software, and pricing database.
