Job description

This leadership position, reporting to our CEO, will play a key role in the next phase of V-Cap’s growth, with responsibility for directing the development of V-Cap’s loan portfolio and pipeline, broadening V-Cap’s outreach in current borrower markets, representing V-Cap in new markets, and deploying V-Cap capital to maximize impact on low-income community health and health equity. This role will be located in one of our key market areas, in metro New York City or remote located in the Raleigh-Durham NC area or in the Denver CO metro area.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Lead development of V-Cap’s short-term and long-term lending pipeline;
2. Oversee marketing and outreach to our borrower markets;
3. Build long-term collaborative partnerships with potential community health borrowers;
4. Complete preliminary analysis of credit issues in loan origination process;
5. Structure pipeline loan transactions to strategically leverage V-Cap’s assets;
6. Collaborate with V-Cap’s partner credit administration team for underwriting, credit review, and transaction execution.

Qualifications

1. Minimum five years’ experience in credit/lending/impact or philanthropic investing;
2. MBA, MPA or equivalent; or sufficient comparable career experience;
3. Experience in financial marketing or business development, with strong financing knowledge and skills, including ability to structure and adapt financing arrangements for specific transactions;
4. Experience in non-profit finance and management is highly desirable, including for example finance management roles at a community-based organization, or consulting for community-based healthcare providers;
5. Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills necessary for relational marketing, and developing transactions in a partnered and mission-focused model;
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in translating financial concepts and products to non-finance audiences; and responding to the business interests of our community healthcare borrowers;
7. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail;
8. Commitment to V-Cap’s mission;
9. Self-starter who thrives in a remote work environment.
