Job summary

The State Bar of Texas seeks a Director of the Legal Access Department (LAD) to lead statewide pro bono initiatives and legal aid programs for low-income Texans. You will develop and implement strategies, supervise LAD staff, and report to the Chief Legal Counsel.

You will work with committees, state and national stakeholders, and the public to enhance access to justice, prepare reports, and support policy development.

Qualifications

• Requires a Texas law license and 8+ years in access to justice.
• Proven management and leadership across all organizational levels.
• Strong oral and written communication and public speaking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pro bono initiatives and LAD projects to improve access to justice.
• Coordinate with legal service providers, volunteers, and stakeholders statewide.
• Supervise LAD staff and handle administrative duties.
• Develop policies and priorities to increase legal services for low-income Texans.
