Job summary

The Minnesota Judicial Branch seeks an attorney to serve as Director of the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility (OLPR) and the Client Security Board (CSB). The Director oversees day-to-day OLPR operations, supervises staff, and reports to the Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board and the Supreme Court.

Qualifications

  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Minnesota law license.
  • Extensive experience as an attorney including trial and civil litigation; appellate experience preferred.
  • Administrative and supervisory experience.
  • Experience with attorney discipline cases.
  • Outstanding writing, public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants active with state or county bar associations desirable.
  • Experience delivering professional education or leading public-facing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise OLPR staff and operations (OLPR has ~23 staff).
  • Review complaints, conduct investigations, and litigate discipline matters.
  • Coordinate with Supreme Court and related regulatory bodies; provide legal education to lawyers.
