Job summary

The University of Akron seeks a dedicated academic success educator to design, deliver, and continually improve law student support programs. You will lead workshops, counsel students, and coordinate ASP fellows to promote retention, bar readiness, and skill development.

Responsibilities include teaching first-year through upper-division courses, developing data-driven interventions, and collaborating with leadership to align curriculum with student needs and outcomes across diverse learning

Qualifications

• Requires Juris Doctorate Degree and state bar licensure.
• Minimum 2 years of demonstrated teaching experience in law or related programs.
• Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, and databases.
• Experience in academic success, bar preparation, or legal writing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a comprehensive academic success program for law students from 1L to upper-division.
• Teach academic success courses and deliver skills-based workshops such as legal analysis, exam writing, and time management.
• Provide individualized academic counseling and coaching to at-risk students.
• Supervise and train ASP fellows, student assistants, and peer tutors.
• Utilize technology to enhance students' learning experience and implement data-driven interventions.
• Collaborate with Academic Success Faculty to recruit, train, and supervise ASP fellows and integrate skills instruction.
• Track student performance metrics and report trends to administration.
