Qualifications

  • 10+ years leading cross-functional commercialization projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management support for global commercialization initiatives.
  • Drive execution of global commercialization initiatives with milestones, timelines, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Coordinate inputs across functions to develop cohesive commercialization plans.
  • Facilitate planning, governance, and decision-making forums with clear actions and ownership.
  • Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and execution challenges.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, dashboards, timelines, and reporting tools for senior stakeholders.
  • Support launch readiness activities and other critical commercialization initiatives.
  • Align development, lifecycle, medical, market access, and commercial plans and deliverables.
  • Evolve PM capabilities with tools, templates, and governance for scalable execution.
  • Strengthen cross-functional operating models as the organization scales.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Launch Excellence based in the United States.

This is a high-impact opportunity to lead commercialization excellence during a period of significant organizational growth and portfolio expansion. The role will drive cross-functional planning, alignment, and execution across major global commercialization priorities. You will partner with Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Supply, Legal, Finance, and regional teams to translate strategy into coordinated action. Working within a dynamic, build-while-scaling environment, you will bring structure, visibility, and execution discipline to complex initiatives. You will also help strengthen project management capabilities, governance, tools, and ways of working across the organization. The position offers broad exposure to senior leaders and the opportunity to directly influence launch readiness and commercialization outcomes. As the function matures, the scope may expand to include people leadership responsibilities.

Accountabilities
  • Lead project management support for Global Commercialization and Global Commercial teams within an assigned disease area, ensuring alignment, accountability, and effective execution of strategic priorities.
  • Drive the execution of global commercial and commercialization initiatives, managing milestones, timelines, risks, dependencies, decisions, and follow-through.
  • Coordinate inputs across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Supply, Legal, Finance, and regional stakeholders to develop cohesive commercialization plans.
  • Facilitate planning, governance, and decision‑making forums, ensuring clear actions, ownership, and timely execution.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks, dependencies, barriers, and execution challenges, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, dashboards, timelines, and reporting tools that provide senior stakeholders with clear visibility into progress, priorities, and potential issues.
  • Support launch readiness activities and other critical commercialization initiatives within the assigned disease area.
  • Partner with project management colleagues across the organization to align development, lifecycle, medical, market access, and commercial plans and deliverables.
  • Contribute to the evolution of commercial project management capabilities through the development of tools, templates, best practices, governance approaches, and scalable ways of working.
  • Help strengthen cross-functional operating models and execution practices as the organization continues to grow and scale.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or a closely related industry.
  • Significant experience leading complex, cross-functional projects, commercialization programs, or strategic initiatives.
  • Experience supporting global commercial organizations, including launch readiness, lifecycle management, or major commercialization initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working across global and regional operating models and coordinating diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including strategic planning, dependency management, risk mitigation, stakeholder leadership, governance, and executive communication.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority, build alignment, and drive accountability across functions and organizational levels.
  • Experience partnering effectively with senior leaders across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other critical functions.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments while maintaining a proactive, solutions‑oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear priorities and actionable plans.
  • Strong judgment, organization, attention to detail, and ability to balance competing priorities in an ambiguous environment.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree such as an MBA, MS, or PhD.
  • Preferred: Oncology or specialty pharmaceutical commercialization experience.
  • Preferred: Formal project management training or certification, such as PMP.
  • Preferred: Experience managing multiple concurrent programs or portfolios.
  • Preferred: Early people leadership experience or demonstrated readiness to assume people leadership responsibilities as the function scales.
Benefits
  • Base salary range of $201,000–$251,000 USD, with compensation adjusted based on factors such as role, level, location, relevant experience, skills, education, training, and market conditions.
