Job summary

Century Therapeutics is seeking a Director of Large Scale Process Development to lead scale-up strategies for bioprocesses, including bioreactors, harvesting, and fill-finish operations. The role requires building and guiding a team across R&D, Analytical, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to advance clinical and commercial manufacturing.

The position is based in Branchburg, NJ with on-site work five days per week.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, or related discipline.
• PhD with at least 10 years relevant experience or BS or MS with at least 15 years relevant experience in biopharmaceutical or cell therapy process development, scale-up, tech transfer and GMP manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead all scale-up efforts for Century’s cell processes in clinical and commercial manufacturing.
• Provide strategic and scientific leadership to a team of process development scientists and engineers.
• Oversee scale-up and scale-down experiments for expansion, differentiation, harvesting, and filling.
• Lead regulatory submissions and engage with health authorities for IND/CTA/IMPD/CTN.
• Collaborate with MSAT and Manufacturing to tech transfer processes into manufacturing.
• Mentor team members and establish a culture of scientific excellence.
