Job summary

Big Waters Land Trust is seeking a Director to advance our land and water conservation mission. You will lead the Land Protection Program, set priorities, and guide negotiations within delegated authority, ensuring real estate documents are prepared and standards maintained for accreditation.

You will collaborate with partners, donors, volunteers, and funding agencies to accelerate land conservation while upholding our mission and brand. The role reports to the Chief Program Officer.

Qualifications

• Director leads land protection initiatives and contributes to organizational strategy.
• Experience in land conservation, real estate processes, and negotiations is expected.

Job description

Reports to: Chief Program Officer Position Objective The Director advances Big Waters’ mission of protecting land and water for the benefit of people and nature. Leading the Land Protection Program, they help set the Organization’s land conservation priorities and strategies. The Director initiates and responds to land conservation opportunities, leads negotiations within delegated authority and timelines, prepares real estate documents, and uses sound judgement. They work collaboratively with partners, donors, volunteers, and funding agencies to quicken the pace of land conservation while ensuring the high standards for national accreditation are maintained.
