Job summary

Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas is seeking a Director of Laboratory Services to lead the clinical laboratory and ensure high-quality, cost-effective testing across chemistry, hematology, blood bank and microbiology.

The role requires a minimum of three years of managerial experience in an acute care hospital laboratory, a BS in Medical Technology or related field, and MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification. Masters in health admin preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years managerial experience in the clinical laboratory of an acute care hospital (non-waived testing).
• Experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• Master’s degree in health admin or business admin preferred.
• MT (ASCP) certification preferred.

Position Summary:

The Director of Laboratory Services is responsible for direction and coordination of the personnel in Clinical Laboratory services. Activities included are performance of chemical, microscopic, blood bank and bacteriologic tests performed in the Clinical Laboratory to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Ensuring that services are of the best quality, are cost contained and are carried out in an expeditious manner. Responsible for recognizing results or problems that require referral to the Clinical Laboratory Pathologist. Maintaining performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Formulating budget. Maintaining effective physician and intradepartmental relations.

Minimum Qualifications:
