Job summary

You will partner with the PI to translate scientific goals into operational strategy, lead staff, manage budgets, and implement new technologies while maintaining compliance and safety. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline is required.
• 10+ years of experience in relevant technical field (industry or academia) is required.
• 8+ years of experience in relevant technical field is required with a Master’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience in relevant technical field is required with a PhD.
• Significant experience in a research functional area with experience managing mid-large teams in a leadership capacity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees laboratory research and directs activities within the laboratory.
• Provides direction and supervision to laboratory staff.
• Develops laboratory policies and SOPs to support efficient operations.
• Manages capital purchasing and budgeting objectives; monitors expenses.
• Oversees design, construction, equipping of laboratories; ensures safe operation.
• Develops compliance and safety policies and procedures; resolves non-compliance issues.
• Evaluates test results and implements new procedures, reagents, and instruments.
• Performs other related duties to meet department and institution goals.
