St. Jude Children's Research Hospital seeks a seasoned Imaging Sciences Fabrication and Design Core Director to lead a new state‑of‑the‑art fabrication and instrumentation core.

You will plan operations, recruit and manage a small team, and partner with leadership to ensure a sustainable model and impactful research enablement. You will drive budget planning, supervise day‑to‑day core activities, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize resources and share advanced expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant technical field (industry or academia).
• 8+ years of experience with a Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience with a Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Significant experience leading mid‑large teams and achieving goals.
• Experience with machining and 3D printing preferred.
• Experience with imaging and/or microscopy technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, build and run a state‑of‑the‑art fabrication and instrumentation core.
• Develop a sustainable financial plan and operational structure for the core.
• Hire, train, and manage 2–4 staff to align with needs.
• Oversee space renovations with construction teams, budget and schedule.
• Scope equipment purchases and coordinate with vendors and finance.
• Maintain knowledge of fabrication techniques and share expertise.
