Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a Director of Laboratory—PCR to plan, direct and monitor lab operations, collaborate with the Medical Director and clinical stakeholders, and ensure high standards of patient safety and quality. You will lead financial, operational and HR aspects of the department while developing and enforcing policies and procedures.

The role requires a clinical leadership track, regulatory compliance experience, and a strong background in medical technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or other acceptable science from a recognized college or university. Required or
• In lieu of Bachelor's degree, Associates in Medical Technology and 7 years of Medical Technologist experience Required
• Master's degree in Business Administration or Health Administration Preferred
• 5 years clinical experience and progressive leadership experience Required

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and monitors strategic and tactical goals for the Laboratory Department in collaboration with the Medical Director and other clinical and operational stakeholders involved in the management of hospital laboratory services.
• Directs, monitors and manages all day-to-day administrative aspects of the department, including financial, operational and human resource issues.
• Develops and approves technical and operational policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
