Job summary

The Michigan Justice Fund seeks a Director to lead strategy and program development, oversee day-to-day operations, and manage relationships with nonprofit organizations, funders and partners. The role reports to the Vice President, Program and MJF Steering Committee.

Ideal candidates will have Michigan residency or willingness to relocate, experience in fundraising and grantmaking, and a track record in collaborative, community-focused reform efforts. Equal opportunity employment is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the criminal justice reform sector.
• Based in Michigan with willingness to move.
• Ability to travel regularly (in-state and out-of-state).
• Facilitation and training experience, including materials design.
• Ability to supervise others as the project grows.
• Strong planning and organizational skills, with strategic execution.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Steering Committee, CFSEM staff and consultants to set program goals, objectives and budget.
• Identify programs and projects across the state to leverage Fund resources.
• Meet with nonprofit representatives to discuss grant proposals and provide recommendations.
• Support fundraising and donor stewardship activities.
• Serve as spokesperson and manage communications with stakeholders.
