Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Justice seeks a Director for the NC Justice Academy, overseeing programs for the North Carolina Criminal Justice and Education Training Standards Commission and related bodies. The role manages grants, HR, and academy resources while aligning operations with the agency’s mission.

The Director will supervise two Deputy Directors and an Administrative Assistant, set policies, and ensure training and operational goals are met, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree plus six years progressively responsible experience, including four in admin or supervisory capacity.
• Doctoral degree plus four years of progressively responsible experience, including three in admin or supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, implement and enforce programs of the NC Justice Academy and associated commissions.
• Manage grants, human resource administration, and administration of resources dedicated to the academy.
• Directly supervise Deputy Directors, an Accreditation Manager, and an Administrative Assistant; travel as required.
