Our Information Technology (IT) department is looking for a Director to lead our global information Services PMO here at Hologic, and partner closely with global IT and business leadership to ensure the successful delivery of projects that align with business initiatives and priorities.
The Director, IT PMO will take on a leadership role in overseeing our global PMO function and processes while maintaining the IT project portfolio across the enterprise. The right candidate should have an excellent proven track record of successful execution and delivery of highly complex value-capture programs and projects within the Life Sciences/Medical Technology industry.
You will be:
- Driving the planning, overall assessment, implementation, and execution of multiple, highly-complex value-capture programs and projects.
- Ensuring that project results contribute positive business value and meet agreed-on scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives all while providing effective project and program delivery.
- Delivering excellent reporting and clear/concise communication to key stakeholders both within and across the organization to ensure successful project completion.
- Motivated and constantly pursuing opportunities to improve PMO processes to drive a nimble and fast-paced business environment.
Areas you will be exceling in:
PM Capability Building
- Establishes and maintains a standard project management approach to drive project initiation, planning, and execution, tailored to deliver innovative new technologies with timeliness, readiness and reliability.
- Extensive knowledge of project management processes, systems development methods, organizational change management concepts, and business process improvement methods
- Incorporates industry best practices, and establishes key measures, and metrics
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical partners
Project Performance
- Defines key performance indicators and clarifies ownership for delivery at all levels of the organization, driving for focused delivery based on commitments
- Conducts regular program and project reviews, proactive risk management, and critical thinking to ensure predictability, quality, and communication
- Creates a systematic approach to improving project planning accuracy and project cycle time
- Drives implementation of a resource management process and reporting to facilitate prioritization, management trade-offs, and efficient project intake based on changing functional needs, resource capacity constraints, risks, and interdependencies meeting deadlines
- Works with the divisional IT and functional leaders to ensure appropriate leveling and allocation of resources to projects and to resolve competing project needs.
- Partners/collaborates with business stakeholders to define success metrics and criteria, project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value
- Ensures that investments and initiatives in project management services are aligned with business strategy and priorities able to meet success parameters and ROI targets stated in business case
- Monitors value metrics to make informed decisions that maximize returns across enterprise projects and programs
- Develops an overall communication strategy and a reporting process for updating the organization and relevant business stakeholders on project and pipeline progress, decisions and impacts.
Development of PMO Staff and Operations
- Provides direction, guidance, and strong leadership to the PMO staff and fosters collaboration and effective integration of efforts with division-wide initiatives.
- Assesses cross-functional project team capability and defines specific improvement actions and training needs to improve collaborative development and project results. Identifies skill gaps and initiates activities to close the gaps
- Monitors the delivery of business objectives and client experience for PMO services
What are we expecting?
- 10+ years of project and program management experience with increasing complexity, including managing multi-geographic division or enterprise-wide projects, mainly in medical device/biotechnology industries
- 5+ years of experience working with technical applications and/or information systems, or equivalent, including managing information technology projects, or equivalent
- Proficient and experienced in Agile Project Management Methodology
- Experience working on project and portfolio management tools
- Hands-on experience in project/portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization, and budgeting
- Experience leading projects and programs within and outside IS, as well as projects and programs that involved external providers
- Demonstrated business acumen and experience leading multi-functional activities with accountability for portfolio, budgetary and resource allocation
- Ability to work effectively with all organizational levels while building collaborative working relationships with various stakeholders
- Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of program management
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop others
The annualized base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $260,000 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
