Role: Director, IT/OT Enterprise Architect

You will play a critical role in shaping the technological roadmap and architecture of RWE Clean Energy. This involves structuring and planning IT/OT systems, business processes, data flows, and technologies to align with business strategies and standards. Collaboration across the organization is essential to ensure seamless integration, optimize investments, and foster innovation. You will represent CE interests in the Global Architecture Board (GAB), steer demand management, prioritize projects, and define technology standards aligned with business needs.

Responsibilities:

1. Create and maintain enterprise architecture roadmaps with a 3-year outlook, considering emerging technologies and market trends.
2. Represent RWE CE in the RWE Group Global Architecture Board, driving consensus on architecture decisions and standards.
3. Define IT/OT technology standards, principles, and guidelines, ensuring their implementation.
4. Align IT/OT strategies with business goals, executing group-level architecture decisions.
5. Lead technology innovation activities, including radar and prototyping, to enhance competitiveness and adaptability.
6. Manage demand intake, prioritizing projects with the Portfolio Manager and Digital Solutions team.
7. Lead the Architect guild, overseeing enterprise architecture targets and initiatives.
8. Make design decisions, promote DevOps practices, and manage COTS applications.
9. Collaborate with business units to understand needs and develop architectural solutions.
10. Ensure data quality and flow in architecture-related systems with the Data team.
11. Maintain documentation, report progress, and update technical design documents.

Requirements and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related.
• Master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Certifications such as TOGAF, Zachman, CEA are a plus.
• At least 15 years of IT architecture experience, with 12+ years post-master’s, including 5+ years in enterprise architecture.
• Experience in creating architecture models, roadmaps, and standards.
• Knowledge of IT/OT infrastructure in energy/utilities sectors.
• Strong consensus-building and strategic influence skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
• This is an office-based role with some travel.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary range: $180,000 - $270,000 annually, based on experience and location.
