Director, IT/OT Enterprise Architect

Role Overview

As Director, IT/OT Enterprise Architect, you will shape the technological roadmap and architecture of RWE Clean Energy. You will develop strategies for IT/OT systems, business processes, data flows, and technologies, ensuring alignment with business goals and standards. Your role involves collaboration across the organization to optimize technology investments, drive innovation, and represent CE interests in the Global Architecture Board (GAB). You will steer demand management, define technology standards, and lead architectural initiatives.

Responsibilities
  1. Create and maintain enterprise architecture roadmaps with a 3-year outlook considering emerging technologies and market trends.
  2. Represent RWE Clean Energy in the GAB, driving consensus on architecture decisions and standards.
  3. Define IT/OT technology standards, principles, and guidelines, ensuring adherence within the application landscape.
  4. Align IT/OT strategies with business objectives and execute group-level architecture decisions.
  5. Lead technology innovation activities, including radar and prototyping, to enhance business value and competitiveness.
  6. Manage demand intake, prioritizing in-house and COTS applications.
  7. Lead the Architect guild in partnership with business domain Solution Architects.
  8. Make design decisions at all levels, promote DevOps methodologies, and manage COTS applications.
  9. Collaborate with business units to understand needs and develop architectural solutions.
  10. Ensure data quality and flow in architecture-related systems with the Data team.
  11. Maintain documentation of architectural frameworks and provide progress reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Master's degree and certifications (TOGAF, Zachman, CEA) preferred.
  • 15+ years in IT architecture, with 12+ years in enterprise architecture, including 5+ years in energy/utility sectors.
  • Experience with architecture models, roadmaps, standards, and platforms like cloud and data.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • This role is primarily office-based with some travel.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $180,000 - $270,000 annually, based on experience and location.
