Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Director of Product Management for Partner Experiences to own the strategy and technical roadmap for third-party device integrations within the Vivint Home ecosystem. This highly technical, autonomous role focuses on expanding smart home capabilities by connecting external devices and APIs.

You will work with engineering, security, and product teams to define standards, author BRDs/PRFAQs, and drive partnerships with world-class tech companies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience, with 4+ years in developer platforms, IoT, or connected smart home ecosystems.
• Proven track record leading complex technical product integrations with tier-1 consumer electronics or software partners.
• Experience driving large-scale, multi-phase launches across distributed organizations.
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/EE or related technical field; equivalent practical experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year strategy, prioritization, and technical execution blueprint for 3P device integrations within the Vivint Home ecosystem.
• Identify external partners whose hardware expertise fills portfolio gaps and enables new-to-world smart home experiences.
• Define interoperability standards for performance, security, and UX within Vivint app ecosystem.
• Partner with Core Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, and InfoSec to design scalable SDKs/APIs for low-latency 3P device communication.
• Drive standards alignment with Matter, Thread, and cloud APIs to simplify onboarding and future-proofing.
• Independently write BRDs, PRFAQs, and data-driven strategy narratives for executive alignment.
• Lead external partner relationships and negotiate collaborations; influence cross-functional teams to execution milestones.
• Establish governance for integration testing and telemetry reviews to monitor performance and customer satisfaction.
