Job summary

Ocean Conservancy seeks a Director of International Government Relations to lead the IGR team and coordinate global advocacy across programs. This senior role directs strategy, budget, and cross-program coordination to ensure a unified presence at major events like Our Ocean, the UN Ocean Conference and UNEA.

Reporting to the Vice President of External Affairs, you will build coalitions, manage international relationships and travel internationally to advance policy goals while championing Ocean

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience (5+ years) in international policy, diplomacy or government relations.
• Experience building/coordinating cross-program coalitions and diplomacy across teams.
• Familiarity with international policy venues relevant to ocean conservation.

Responsibilities

• Directly engage with governments and international institutions on Ocean Conservancy’s priorities.
• Manage IGR team reports, budget, and annual workplan.
• Coordinate cross-program advocacy and a unified global presence for major convenings.
