Job summary

Fervo Energy is seeking a Director of Internal Audit to design and build the internal audit function from first principles, guiding the SOX compliance program and defining the enterprise risk universe across financial reporting, IT, OT, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.

This hands-on leadership role partners with the Head of Compliance & Regulatory Programs, CFO, external auditors, and the Audit Committee to ensure a robust control environment and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of progressive internal audit, external audit, or ICFR experience.
• Experience building or rebuilding an SOX program from ground up.
• Strong understanding of COSO 2013, PCAOB AS 2201, and SEC ICFR rules.

Responsibilities

• Design and stand up the internal audit function from scratch.
• Lead the SOX program design, testing, and remediation oversight.
• Coordinate with external auditors and the Audit Committee on risk and control issues.
• Design IT and cybersecurity audits across ITGCs, applications, and OT.
• Oversee regulatory and compliance audits across energy-related programs.
